A celebration of colour, choice, and childhood wonder, Toy Buffet 2025: Colour Chronicles transformed giving into an immersive sensory experience. Organised by Food from the Heart, the annual charity carnival welcomed over 2,000 underprivileged children, offering more than 12,000 thoughtfully wrapped toys,  each accompanied by a handwritten note of encouragement.

Built around a bold, colour-led design system, the theme translated courage, creativity, and self-expression into vibrant zones, layered palettes, and tactile visual elements. Colour became more than decoration; it became a narrative device for confidence, connection, and joy for children.






The Thought:

The carnival theme, “Colour Chronicles: Choose A Hue, Discover You!”, was designed as an immersive celebration of courage, creativity, and self-expression. Through vibrant, colour-themed zones and thoughtfully curated interactive experiences, children were invited to explore identity in a playful yet meaningful way, discovering how every shade tells a story, and every story deserves to be seen. Colours have the power to awaken imagination, and choosing a colour that spoke to their spirits opened the doors to creativity, confidence, and self-expression.

At its heart, this year’s theme carried a deeper message: every child deserves the space to dream boldly, create freely, and express themselves without limits. In a time when families are navigating rising costs and young minds face growing pressures both in and beyond the classroom, Toy Buffet aimed to be more than a carnival;  it aspired to be a moment of hope and inspiration. A reminder that their potential is limitless, and their individuality is something to be celebrated.





Core idea

  • Central theme: personal expression and discovery through colour for children aged between 6 - 13 years old
  • Experiential aim: ignite senses via colour, brushstrokes, crayons; every colour carries memory, mood, moment.
  • Metaphor: toy+food = playful nourishment for the mind (Toy Buffet +  Food For Thought).


The Toy+Food metaphor

  • Concept: Fuse play (toy) with nourishment for thought (food). The visual vocabulary marries toy silhouettes with food-inspired forms to symbolize playful intellect and curiosity.
  • Logo and marks: A scalable “toy+food” glyph that remains recognizable when recoloured, enabling a flexible identity across materials.

Layout - Grid-based yet fluid: color blocks that interlock like puzzle pieces; generous white space to let color “breathe.”



Theme: Colour Chronicles:  “ Choose a hue,  Discover  You” : A playful exploration of how children’s minds fuse objects, stories, and color. The visuals move from rockets to carrots and beyond to mirror the rapid, unpredictable leaps of child’s. imagination. Every color holds memory, mood, and moment, sparked through brushstrokes, crayons, and tactile textures.

  • - Core idea: Personal expression and discovery through color, designed to ignite sensory play and narrative creation.




Dedication Cards
Each toy comes with a handwritten message from the toy donors for the recipient. They are also beautifully gift-wrapped by volunteers.
